Unit start-up difficulties and solutions

Unit start-up difficulties and solutions

Difficulty starting diesel generator sets is one of the common faults. The following analyzes the causes and solutions.

1. Starting system failure

Insufficient battery power, damaged starter, and loose terminals can all cause difficulty starting. The battery level should be checked regularly, and the terminals should be kept clean and tight.

2. Fuel system failure

No fuel in the fuel tank, blocked fuel lines, air in the fuel lines, and fuel pump failure can all prevent starting. Check the fuel level, bleed the fuel lines, and repair the fuel pump.

3. Low ambient temperature

Low temperature will increase diesel viscosity and reduce fluidity. Low temperature diesel should be used, or a preheating device should be installed.

4. Insufficient compression pressure

Poor valve sealing, piston ring wear, and cylinder gasket damage will all reduce compression pressure. Repair the engine and replace damaged parts.
